Stage 32 proudly presents Cry-Baby on Friday, April 7, Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9. More information coming soon.
Cry-Baby is a musical based on the 1990 John Waters film of the same name. Chaos ensues when finishing school girl Allison Vernon-Williams starts seeing guitar playing rebel, Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker, who is the leader of a pack of rebel outcasts. The rockabilly-inspired musical numbers are good-hearted.
Everyone likes Ike, nobody likes communism, and Wade 'Cry-Baby' Walker is the coolest boy in town. He's a bad boy with a good cause—truth, justice, and the pursuit of rock 'n roll—and when he falls for a good girl who wants to be bad, her charm school world of bobby sox and barbershop quartets will never be the same. Wayward youth, juvenile delinquents, cool music, edgey lyrics, bizarre rejects...Finally, the 50's come to life! For real this time!"

The theater program at U-32 will use many forms of theater experiences, both on stage and behind the scenes, to aid students in the development of favorable habits and attitudes that will prepare them for for a life that is steeped in performing arts and entertainment. The program shall be conducted in accordance with VPA, School Board, U-32, and theater program policies and regulations. At all times the theater program will be conducted in such a way so as to justify it as an educational and co-curricular activity.
Our students will learn and grow to be effective citizens. Working successfully in our society requires that a person learn teamwork, develop self-discipline, have respect for authority and embrace hard work and sacrifice.
The U-32 theater program is highly competitive at the regional, state and New England level of competition. Actors and Techies are expected to be at all rehearsals, performances and functions. Due to the nature of theater, auditions are mandatory and will be held prior to production rehearsals.
Prerequisites to participate in U-32 theater program (Stage 32):
