Berlin Elementary School is currently home to  219 students in preschool through sixth grade.  Class sizes range from an average of 13 students at PreK through 1st grades, 22 students in 2nd through 4th grades, and  27 students in the fifth and sixth grades in 11 classrooms(which includes 2 PreK sessions). Berlin Elementary School is a great place for both academic and social learning in an individualized environment.

Centrally and conveniently located near VT Route 62 on Paine Turnpike North our school’s 2016 - 2017 goals include an ongoing focus on the foundational skills of literacy and mathematics, in addition to fostering a respectful climate.

In addition to the main building, our campus includes two freshly resurfaced sports fields and a new and spacious playground. Our gymnasium boasts a rock climbing wall for the adventurers among us and most of our classrooms and library (also called the Learning Center) include Smart Boards, ceiling mounted LCD projectors and other interactive technology resources. Our six mobile laptop labs are used throughout the building and a 9-station desktop lab serves our Learning Center.

Berlin’s dedicated and highly qualified staff includes reading and math specialists, threee special educators, a speech pathologist, energetic and creative classroom teachers and support staff members who are committed to seeing children succeed. Our breakfast and lunch programs are focused on providing nutritious, appealing meals made from ingredients sourced as locally as possible, not to mention our new gardens on campus. The students and staff have planned, planted and cared for these gardens and have connected the implementation of the gardens to classroom learning.  We offer visual arts, music, guidance, physical education, and library skills to all K-6 students as individual classes. As a Responsive Classroom , and PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions Supports) school we value both social and academic learning.

We welcome families and visitors. Please call to schedule a tour and spend the day in our fabulous school.
