The Washington Central Supervisory Union offers free public, part time pre-kindergarten education in each of its elementary schools for all 3-, 4- and 5- year- olds who are not enrolled in kindergarten.
Also, per Act 166, Vermont’s universal pre-k law, Washington Central families may enroll their pre-k students in private pre-qualified pre-k programs. If your child is 3 or 4 years old (3 years old as of September 1, 2017), then your child is eligible to participate during the 2017-2018 school year.
If you plan to enroll your child in one of our public school pre-k programs or in a private pre-qualified program, please register now. Contact your local elementary school or see the link to the left for registration forms. All paperwork should be completed and received at the local elementary school no later than Friday March 31, 2017.
Later this spring Washington Central will conduct developmental play-based screenings for 3- and 4- year- olds.
Please contact Jennifer Miller-Arsenault, Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, at 229-0553 ext. 310 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions regarding pre-kindergarten or Act 166.
