  • ~ FREE MEALS FOR ALL STUDENTS ~

On August 31, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced an extension of the summer meals program, under which all US school children are eligible for free breakfast and lunch. The extension will run through the entire 2020/2021 school year.

This means that all families with children attending school in the Washington Central Unified Union School District, whether they are doing so in-person or remotely, are eligible for to receive breakfast and lunch for free.

While we encourage all families to take advantage of this free program to ensure your children are receiving healthy and nutritious meals, students who so desire may still bring their lunch from home. Students bringing their lunch from home will continue to be able to purchase milk. (Milk is included in the free lunch program).

We would also like to remind parents and caregivers to continue filling out and submitting the
Free and Reduced Lunch Application to ensure that free or affordable meals are available throughout the 2020-21 school year.
