    Arts Takeover at BES!

World Drumming with Nicola Cannizzaro, May 20-21st

Chalk Art with Katie Runde, May 28th

The art and music departments are excited to welcome two Artists in Residence to BES for a takeover in May. All students in grades K-6 will participate in this exciting event

Nicola Cannizzaro, percussionist, will be leading our K-6 students in world drumming workshops and will perform for each class. Students will get to hear about his career, see some of his unique instruments and hear him play.

Katie Runde, visual artist, will be chalking with our students all day on May 28th. She will be creating her own chalk masterpiece under the veranda and students will each have their own chalk art lining the sidewalks. We welcome all families to participate in a “Chalk Walk" over Memorial Day weekend to see the creations of Katie and BES students. Be on the lookout for more information about this in this month's newsletter.
