Superintendent Search Update

December 5, 2019

TO:  WCUUSD Community, Staff, Students & Families

Last year Washington Central school boards hired a one-year interim superintendent.  They left the hiring of a longer-term superintendent to the future board of the newly merged school district.  Here we are now, launching our search.

We want your input.  The Superintendent is the only school district employee that we, your elected officials, directly supervise on your behalf.  We want to hire someone who is not only highly skilled and capable in the job, but who also shares your values and your hopes for our children.

Please help us!  There are several ways, and you may choose as many (or as few) as you like.

First, you may fill out a very short “WCUUSD Superintendent Search Survey”:  https://forms.gle/Nep1N6oqndCfc5698.  The survey closes at 12:00am Wednesday, December 18, 2019.

You may also share your thoughts and questions personally at a number of meetings to be held in our schools during the week of December 9th.  Please feel free to attend any of them.

Here are their locations, dates, and times:

Berlin Elementary:  Monday Dec. 9 at 3:45 pm

Calais Elementary:  Wednesday Dec. 11 at 8:00 am

Doty Memorial:  Thursday Dec. 12 at 3:30 pm

East Montpelier Elementary:  Thursday Dec. 12 at 8:00 am

Rumney Memorial:  Monday Dec. 9 at 3:45 pm

U-32:  Tuesday Dec. 10 and Thursday Dec. 12, both at 2:45 pm

Plus one more forum to be held at U-32 on Wednesday Dec. 11 at 5:30 pm.

Finally, we would like our interview committee to be broadly representative.  If you are interested in serving, please contact Carla Messier, WCUUSD Human Resources Coordinator at cmessier@u32.org for further information.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Scott Thompson, WCUUSD Board Chair
